R U OK? Day was recognised on Thursday, 11 September, but for Reliant Healthcare the principle is year-round: everyday care includes everyday check-ins.
This work matters. Clients, families and carers all juggle a lot, and a small, timely conversation can make the rest of the day run smoother. To mark the day, our team held a low-key coffee catch-up—time to pause, connect and check in with one another. Looking after the people who care is part of how we maintain steady, attentive care at home.
How we keep check-ins simple (and useful)
Ask, genuinely:“How’s your week really been?”
Listen with care: give space; no speeches or quick fixes.
Encourage one next step: a call to the GP, a chat with a trusted person, or a small change to tomorrow’s plan.
Follow up: a quiet check-back later in the week.
These are the same habits we bring into client visits—calm, practical and consent-led—because wellbeing sits alongside meds, meals and mobility.
